The Sensual Silver line of jewelry was created for its Beauty, Sensuality and Safety. Even though bacteria cannot grow on silver, it still needs to be cleaned between uses. Silver reacts to sulfur in the air and to other substances (ammonia), causing it to tarnish. For this reason, we do not recommend putting it in the dishwasher to clean it. For best results, we feel the best way to enhance the anti-bacterial qualities of silver is to clean in an Ultra-Sonic Cleaner. For a better understanding of why, we have included the following facts:

• Ultrasound is a mechanical vibration producing electrical excitation in liquids.
• Ultrasound alternately compress and release compression producing energy.
• Formation and collapse of bubbles (cavitation) vibrates "dirt" off the object.
